    Dear colleagues within the weltwärts programme,

    On behalf of the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) we are happy to host once again a conference for weltwärts partner organisations (POs) from Southern Africa (South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland) within the framework of the development volunteers service “weltwärts

    This conference (and six other of this kind held this year in Africa, Latin America and India) strengthens the dialogue between the weltwärts joint operation (Gemeinschaftswerk) and involved partner organisations (PO). The partners’ perspective towards overlapping questions of the weltwärts programme development is one of the major intentions the conference aims at.

    Partners will have the opportunity to exchange topics relevant to them. Hence through closer involvement of the partners’ perspective the conference will contribute to improve the overall quality of the programme.

    In order to be part of the programme we kindly request you to fill the attached application form and send it back by e-mail to your German sending organisation whom we kindly request to forward the same to us and/or directly to us under until 30 September 2014 respectively as soon as possible. Since the capacity is limited we will try to honour your registration on the “first come − first serve” basis. In order to have a vast variety of different partner organisations at the conference please kindly note that only one representative per partner organisation can be permitted for participation.

    Eligibility: All weltwärts POs and those staff members actively involved in weltwärts activities (e.g. mentors, trainers, relevant PO staff) are invited. That means, the person who participates in the conference should be a practitioner being able to relate about her/his experiences with the weltwärts programme, volunteers and sending agencies from Germany.

    Further details of the conference will be provided after registration.

    Costs of food and lodging, the conference participation costs as well as transportation to the conference are covered.

    Please note the further information regarding your travel costs:

    Please organise and pay for your own travel to the conference upfront. The costs will be reimbursed up to a certain amount on presentation of the original travel documents.

    The guaranteed subsidy for the travel cost depends on the country that the participant is travelling from.  All amounts over and above will have to be covered by the participants themselves.

    Maximum amounts to be reimbursed per person (dependent on current exchange rate):

    250 € South Africa/Lesotho/Swaziland
    500 € Namibia/Botswana/ Mozambique
    50 € Port Elizabeth and surroundings

    Important notice: The travel costs can only be reimbursed on presentation of the original travel documents. The refund of flight tickets requires the original ticket plus the boarding pass that you received at the airport.

    Participants travelling by air:

    The shuttle service from PE Airport to Pine Lodge is scheduled as follows:
    11.11.:  10:00, 12:30, 14:15, 17:30
    12.11.:  08:30, 10:00, 11:45, 13:00, 14:15, 20:00

    Please look out for a sign that shows the conference’s logo.

    Please do not forget your original boarding cards as well as your banking details if you haven’t send everything through.
